Every material has its unique character and story. Each possesses exceptional qualities that, when contrasted, can be combined to create enticing contrasts. I choose to tell different stories with my hands.
For this series of works, I have selected clay and porcelain as two poles and decided to work between them. Porcelain is my medium, my canvas. Whenever I went for other pottery materials, it was to offer a mirror to porcelain, to test myself, and to discover the new beauty of the most demanding and rewarding material.
Three types of clay in three different colors, all with a strong presence, contrast with the delicacy and transparency of porcelain, telling a story in search of harmony. How do we create a balance between contrasts?
When I understood the characteristics of the materials, I could let myself go and play with the possibilities. The meeting point was when the firmness and roughness of the clay met the fragility of delicate porcelain in perfect balance, evoking a sense of balance and tension simultaneously.
I am still trying to figure out its purpose, but it brings many ideas. I can't wait to see how these sets will enrich your tables. Think, feel, break the rules, establish the rules, invite!
This meeting point is also the starting point for future work.
The collection is a limited edition. For each of the three variants, there are two sets made. All pieces are food-safe.
